The EU Directive 2018/957, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 June 2018, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 9 July 2018. This Directive amends Directive 96/71/EC regarding the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services.
The Member States are required to comply with the new Directive by 30 July 2020. Until the transposing legislation comes into effect, the unamended version of Directive 96/71/EC will remain applicable .
The Directive ensures the protection of posted workers during their posting by laying down mandatory provisions regarding work conditions and the protection of workers' health and safety.
